It’s always an honor to be accepted to programs that share our vision of helping work-based learning initiatives proliferate across the nation.
Founder Carlos Vazquez was recently accepted as a Fellow of The Chicago Leadership Circle.
The Chicago Leadership Circle is a joint initiative of Crain’s Chicago Business and the University of Chicago.
Purpose of the Chicago Leadership Circle
The University of Chicago’s announcement states that the goal is to “engage executives in the region’s prosperous and inclusive future.”
Along with journalists from Crain’s and UChicago faculty, the group of 15 fellows will meet throughout the year to discuss crime, equitable development, and more regional issues.
Some of the Many Reasons We’re Excited
A Regional Home Base
In our first year, GoSprout had quite a lot of impact Florida, mostly centered around our apprenticeship management tools and how we helped programs near our headquarters in Miami-Dade.
We’re quite proud of all that we accomplished near home, but we’ve been pushing to get our message out nationally and we appreciate the recognition, especially in such an important city for the middle of the country.
We actually have team members headquartered in Chicago and want to build even stronger community relationship in the area this year.

New Perspectives
The cohort is also an amazing and diverse group of executives from the public and private sector and spanning diverse industries.
Stay tuned for updates on what unfolds as the group gets to know each other throughout 2025.
We’re excited to learn from these folks!
A Bridge to Mid-West Educational Institutions and Employers
With GoSprout now able to onboard post-secondary institutions across the country, getting the word out is a big deal this year.
From Chicago’s Southside, NBA great Tony Allen joined GoSprout as an advisor in part to help amplify our voice, and this program just helps us meet new work-based learning stakeholders. We’re already seeing a number of colleges signing up from this region with more around the corner!
A Common Cause
The mission of this program aligns with ours. Building equity is a major reason that Carlos started in GoSprout in the first place. Building pathways for our nation’s youth via smart community partnerships is a big piece of that. With our experience supporting the Workforce Miami initiative, we’re excited about the possibilities of helping foster similar programs across the country.
What’s Next?
Throughout the year, we’ll supporting and learning from the fellows and reporting back on what we accomplish.
If you’re based in the area, we’d love to meet you and learn more about how we can help each other with work-based learning initiatives.
